Activities
Days for Girls trainers traveled to the Ntaruka Health Center and arrived at 2:00 PM.
The session included interaction with women attending prenatal care services.
Trainers provided education on menstrual health management and the use of reusable menstrual kits.
A total of 200 menstrual kits were distributed to the participants.
Impact
The distribution was well-received by the women.
Participants expressed joy and gratitude, noting that in rural areas like Burera, it is often challenging to purchase regular pads due to high costs and limited financial means.
This initiative not only provided practical solutions but also helped restore dignity and confidence among women who often face barriers to accessing menstrual products.
Observations
Women were eager to learn and actively engaged with the trainers.
The demand for reusable menstrual kits remains high in rural communities.
Local health centers serve as an effective point of contact to reach women in need, particularly those seeking maternal health services.
Conclusion
The distribution at Ntaruka Health Center was successful, reaching 200 women with sustainable menstrual health solutions. The positive reception highlights the importance of continuing such programs, especially in rural communities where access to affordable menstrual products remains limited.
