Smart Starter Kit distribution at G.S Nyangwe, 15 October 2026.
On 15 October 2026, the Days for Girls Musanze team visited G.S Nyangwe (Groupe Scolaire Saint Dominique Xavio Nyangwe) to distribute Smart Starter Kits and deliver health training to the girls of the school. The visit was coordinated with the school’s contact person, Jean Baptiste, and led by a team of four trainers: Leatitia, Emerance, Grace and Charles.
In total, 112 girls took part and each received a kit, so every girl present left with her own. The team ran three training sessions during the day.
The Distribution and Training
The distribution was carried out together with the Awareness and Women’s Health (AWH) training, so that girls received their kits along with the knowledge to use them confidently. The training was delivered across the three sessions by the four-person team, and the school later confirmed in writing that health training sessions had been provided for each girl who received a kit.
One session was recorded under the class “teacher” with a group of 20, which suggests that teachers also took part in the training. This is a helpful outcome, because staff who understand the kits and the health messages can support the girls long after the team has left.
Feedback from the School
The school was warm in its response. Jean Baptiste shared that the school was happy to receive the team because the girls needed the pads as part of their education, and that once the girls have them, they are very comfortable. In his words,
“We are happy to receive you at our school because our girls needed your pads as part of their education. Once they get the pads, they are very comfortable.”
